Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD)

ACCD “sets the table for opportunity” by working to enhance Vermont’s business climate, market Vermont, and strengthen communities. The Agency is also home to the International Trade Division, helping Vermont businesses succeed in international markets.

Vermont Department of Economic Development

Located within the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, Vermont’s Department of Economic Development works to improve the economic well-being of Vermonters while preserving our natural resources and community values.

Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC)

With office space in the GBIC building, VtSBDC provides low-cost training programs and no-cost mentoring to help strengthen existing business and grow startups.

SCORE Vermont

An all-volunteer organization, SCORE provides free mentoring to help start or grow your business.

Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC)

VMEC is Vermont’s expert resource dedicated to serving small and medium-sized manufacturers. Headquartered on the Vermont Technical College campus in Randolph, VMEC operates throughout the state assisting manufacturers with increasing productivity, reducing costs, and providing assistance with utilizing and incorporating new technologies and services.

Innovation

Named one of the “Ten Most Innovative Tech Hubs in the U.S.” by Forbes, the greater Burlington area’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is supported by:

  • Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) – VCET provides expert business mentoring, technology professional networking, coworking and accelerator spaces in Burlington, innovation programs, and venture capital investment. VCET manages $15 million in evergreen venture capital funds to support Vermont’s startup and scaling technology firms.
  • HULA – HULA Lakeside is a coworking campus, venture capital fund & business incubator, and events venue on the shores of Lake Champlain. 
  • Vermont Technology Council (VTC) – VTC supports science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Vermont by bringing together academic research, entrepreneurial capacity, and state government.
