Burlington, Vt. (July 20, 2026) – Thomas “TJ” Matteini has joined the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation (GBIC) team as an economic development specialist. A 2026 graduate of the University of Vermont, Matteini will meet with employers in Northwest Vermont to assist them in accessing grants, incentives, and other programs that create jobs and fuel economic growth. Matteini will also help to identify and advocate for policies that support long-term economic development.
“TJ was a standout candidate for the position,” says GBIC president, Frank Cioffi. “He is committed to putting his talent and energy toward advancing Vermont’s economic health. We’re delighted to have him on board.”
At UVM, Matteini was a reporter for the Community News Service and president of the University’s club water polo team. When he’s not helping to build Vermont’s future economy, TJ enjoys rock climbing and rooting passionately for the Baltimore Ravens.
